But too often success is limited by blockages rooted in people and organisational issues. The Transforming Capability toolset equips a company to anticipate these obstacles, and to create an ‘enabled’ organisation which can adopt, implement and sustain effectively, by
 
  • Identifying the need: Examining the issues and barriers which confront innovation and technology transfer. Deciding who should to do what differently and which processes need addressing.
  • Individual Learning: Enhancing the learning experience for people at all levels and responsibilities, from decision-making through implementation into sustained operation.                                    
  • Making things happen: Embedding new abilities into the business and evaluating business benefit.
This pioneering framework of best practice will transform the capabilities of employers, their learning providers, and support agencies. It is hard-wired to bottom-line business benefit, and employers have already achieved over £30m of added value through increased business and cost savings.

The Transforming Capability toolset is the outcome of a major Skills Development project carried out at WMG at the University of Warwick. The project was part of the 'Premium Automotive R&D programme' (PARD), carried out in partrnership with Jaguar Land Rover, and funded by Advantage West Midlands.

Clive Reynolds headed up the team which developed the toolset through rigorous research and case studies. In 2011 he has set up a spin-out company which holds the licence to disseminate and deploy the tools in the UK and overseas.
